Tasmanian Myrtle (Nothofagus cunninghamii) is an evergreen tree native to Tasmania. It is a pale pink colour, which usually has subtle wavy grain, however this stock is extremely figured with incredible deep tight, almost fiddleback, quilting. At approximately 700kg/m3 density, this is a medium density hard wood.

Due to its scarcity, this timber will only be used for externals on Hybrids, select this timber for your next drum if you seek a unique example of an iconic Australian timber, especially rare given its figured feature. The internal wood you select will ultimately contribute most prominently to the tone of the drum.

Limited timber: There is only enough to make 5 hybrid snare drums. You make like to have standard Myrtle as the inner timber.

Price: Add $385 to the drum size and model of your choice.
