Also known as African Rosewood, Bubinga (likely Guibourtia tessmannii) grows sporadically through the swampy parts of west central Africa. Whilst this is a typical example of crown cut Bubinga, this piece, from Roger’s collection, would be quite difficult to source again. Its density is approx. 890kg/m3 and is considered a hard timber.

Purchase this drum for mid to high range tunings. Tuned at its lowest, this snare can produce a clean and meaty punch with a pure underlying pitch particularly with dampening assistance. As the drum is tuned up, it retains its great body with the addition of a throaty crack and musical ping.

Limited timber: Be the first and only owner of a drum from this material.

Price: Add $50 to the drum size and model of your choice.
