Western Australian Bullich (Eucalyptus megacarpa) grows in in the south-west corner of Western Australia in scattered spots from Perth round to Albany. This unique example of the timber features strong fiddleback and has not been used to our knowledge by instrument makers before. At approximately 640kg/m3, this is considered a medium density wood.
Due to its scarcity, this timber will only be used for externals on Hybrids, select this timber for your next drum if you seek a unique striking Australian timber, it is especially rare given its figured feature. The internal wood you select will ultimately contribute most prominently to the tone of the drum.
Limited timber: x1 hybrid snare has already been made using this material. There is only enough left to make x3 more hybrid snare drums.
Price: Add $360 to the drum size and model of your choice.
